Hello guys! This is the third part of my blog on painting techniques.
Veining
Blushing
Veining
We are going to start with veining and there are some things you need to know first:
1.The reborn needs to have a base coat, like we talked before, the color blue can stain the vinyl and it won’t come out.
2.You need to think the veins as not lines, more like shading.
3.Squiggly lines look more realistic than straight lines, so that is important to keep in mind once you star painting them.
4.The veins look like trees and as we all know trees has branches.
For the materials we need:
1.Painting pallet
2.Vein blue color
3.Odorless paint thinner
4.Clean paint brush
We want a very translucent color for veins, so we can barely see it on the vinyl, you can try doing it on layers so until you get the color you want it to look, and now we start painting them on each part of our vinyl kit.
Complexion layer
Is the same color and consistency as the base color part! In this part you can do as much layers as you want.
Blushing
1. Layer 1 overall blush to warm the skin.
2. Layer 2 Accent blushing cheek, knees, elbows.
3. Layer 3 specific spots.
We are going to use two colors: warm blush and the lip & nail blush, we mix them with the odorless paint thinner, is better to use a translucent tone because is easier to add layers. To apply it, we use a sponge. For the accent blushing we use the same colors as in the first layer, this depends on how red you want your accents to be, and we paint on the spots that need more blushing. And for the last layer you need to prepare a more consistent color to apply in the areas as needed.
