My art, my passion...

Hello my friends!

I’m so excited to start this week’s blog with the second part of painting techniques for your vinyl reborn!

1.- Base coat layer protects the vinyl for future painting colors.

It is important to use gloves, so we don’t leave finger prints on it.

Now we are going to start!

We need:

- Flesh color 08
- Odorless paint thinner
- 3/4 brush
- Cosmetic wedges

You need to try and make enough base coat to paint the whole vinyl kit.   Start by putting the paint thinner and then the flesh color 08, mix them together with our ¾ brush, take the cosmetic wedges and with tweezers take out the straight edges so that they don’t leave a pattern on the reborn.  Now put paint in the cosmetic wedges and then start painting the reborn.  Use the brush to reach the difficult part of our vinyl. You will need to work what is best for you so they can dry without laying on paper.

After putting the base coat on the head, work the eyes, nose and ears with a brush.  With another brush you need to even out the parts where you see the paint uneven.

2.- Mottling

The important things you need to know about mottling:

- Translucent color
- Each layer dry

For this we will need:

- Pallet
- Odorless paint thinner
- 3 paints: Vain blue, genesis red, ultramarine blue
- Gloves
- Plugged sponges
- 3 brushes: paint blush, eye shadow brush, thicker brush

On the first mottling layer, the vain blue, use a paint thinner and mix it with the vain blue color, you will have to apply very thin lines.

Then start with the sponge making your way up twisting it, so we don’t see the same pattern. After that mix the genesis red and the ultramarine blue, as a result you are going to get a purple color, do the same procedure as with the vain blue. For the third part put the genesis red very light, very transparent.

It is important to let the layers dry before applying the next one. Once done if you are not happy with the result, you can always add another layer of color.

This is the second part of my painting techniques blog!

Don’t forget there is a third part of this blog!
